UPDATE 2: Urgent advice from a few blog friends that this is a case of mistaken identity by the Economist. I posted on this in good faith based on their article from the 28th October edition of the Economist. There is only 1 Taurus Group in New Zealand mentioned in Companies Office records. I expect shortly to get a very pissed off response to the email I sent Taurus Group New Zealand last night to check.
UPDATE:It looks as though the Economist may have got it wrong. They mention Taurus as an NZ company but the Volcker report seems to indicate that it is a Swedish/Swiss company Taurus Petroleum. This is still worth a follow up from NZ MSM to check whether it is a different company. I have sent them an email to check
More on the New Zealand company mentioned as being one of the four companies mainly responsible for laundering oil for food money by Volckers UN Report. The Companies Office has info about Taurus Group.
