One fella was dealt with by police and a court in accordance with the laws of the time 20 years ago, but the peacenik idiot Burton spots the opportunity to bag the army. Having been through basic training at Waiouru in the early 80's I can safely attest that to the professionalism of all the training staff I came across. Youth were being trained as soldiers , not pansies. If you couldn't handle a bit of stick in what was, even then, a voluntary environment you did not belong there.
